The PNG National Research Institute’s Universal Basic Education (UBE) Research Program will be hosting an initial seminar presentation of the UBE Provincial and District Profiles for 2009, 2011, and 2013.

Using Milne Bay as the sample province, the presentation will analyse the province and its districts performance according to the UBE key indicators of access, quality and retention.

The presentation will also include a trend analysis to compare Milne Bay Province and its districts performance in 2009, 2011 and 2013.

The presentation will also provide an overview of schools in Milne Bay including the number of schools per district, student enrolment rate, student to teacher ratio, female to male students ratio and so forth.

The Institute’s UBE Research Program has been producing biannual district and provincial profiles to assess the Government’s Free Education Policy and whether it has been successful in providing basic primary education to children between the ages of six and eighteen in the country.

Feedback from the presentation will be used to finalise and produce the biannual district and provincial profiles.

The presentation will be held at the Institute on 28 March 2018 and will be attended by key stakeholders from education agencies.
