Trunk infrastructure vital for housing development
Trunk infrastructure is the shared developmental infrastructure required to ensure a healthy and safe environment for the users it is serving. Its primary purpose is to service catchments areas with a number of users or housing estates rather than serving individuals. Trunk infrastructure is a combination of things that we need in order to make a house liveable, for example: potable piped borne water, proper road networks, electric power, sewerage, including a proper drainage facility.
Technical issues: The impact on 2017 election results for women
Technical issues have a big impact on election outcomes. Technical constraints need to be addressed to improve election process and outcomes. A total of 167 out of 3,332 candidates who registered for the 2017 PNG national election were women. However, no woman has been voted into parliament this time. The three women MPs from the 2012 election have lost their seats. We ask these questions: Why are women not elected? What are some explanations?
