Program Leader

Dr. Eugene Ezebilo is an Associate Professor of Economics. He is the Program Leader of the Property Development Research Program at the Papua New Guinea National Research Institute (PNG NRI). Eugene has a PhD in Economics and MSc from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, Sweden and B-Agric. from the University of Agriculture Abeokuta, Nigeria. Before joining PNG NRI, he has worked for several years at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, Sweden as Associate Professor in Economics, Assistant Professor in Economics and Planning and Postdoctoral Researcher in Environmental and Resource Economics, respectively. He has served as a supervisor and an examiner for several masters and doctoral students’ thesis in Sweden, Italy, Trinidad and Tobago, Nigeria and PNG. Eugene has lectured several courses at postgraduate diploma, masters’ and doctoral levels such as Environmental Economics and Management, Statistics, Research Methods, Economics of Multiple Use Forestry, How to Write and Publish Scientific Papers, Agricultural Policy, Housing Policy and PNG Economic and Policy Issues. He has competence in econometric modelling, qualitative and quantitative research methods, economic valuation of public goods, natural resource management, socio-economic impacts analysis and economic policy analysis. Eugene’s research interests include Economic development; Environmental economics and policy; Housing economics and policy; Land use policy; and Natural resource management.
